Hill Repeats

The hill goes ever up and up
Up from the place where I began
Still far ahead the top doth lie
whitespaceAnd I must follow if I can,
Pursuing it on weary quads,
whitespaceWith gasping breath, I reach the ridge,
Where all my toil is finally done,
whitespaceAnd whither then? Back down; repeat!

I’d so much rather live in a hobbit hole then do hill repeats. Oh, wait…..I do. It’s almost race day…….better start packing . Do you need a yeast sitter? It’s the least I could do for all of the help you gave to George’s cat.

It’s for less than a week. The yeast only gets lonely and awkward after about 2 weeks. But thanks for the thought!

Fran’s version” (following the cadence and rhyme patterns of the original:)
The hill goes ever up and ON
Up from the place where I began
So far ahead the hill hath gone
And I must follow if I can.
    Pursuing it with weary quads,
Until I finally reach the top
Where other runners give me nods
And whither then? — Repeat, don’t stop!
